Unfortunately, if Bing is right, then things will not be so rosy for India the next time round. According to Bing there is a 57.8 per cent chance that South Africa will defeat India in the match on Sunday, 22nd February.
India has never beaten South Africa in a World Cup match and Bing thinks that is will not change. For many, South Africa is one of the favourites to lift the World Cup in Australia.
Bing has a great track record. It has successfully predicted the outcome of the knockout stage of the Football World Cup, which was played last year. Earlier in the year, it also predicted the Grammy awards and will soon even predict the Oscars. Recently, it also predicted the results of the NFL SuperBowl, which played in the US every year.
On its website Microsoft claims that Bing uses a combination of search, social and other relevant data to make intelligent predictions about upcoming events, like sports games, reality TV shows, and more.
The Bing search engine also powers Microsoft's virtual assistant Cortana. People using Cortana on the PC, tablet or phone can also keep a tab of cricket and their favourite team.
