Sharma will not only be debuting as an actor, but a singer as well, in Abaas-Mustan’s next ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu.’ He also sings many Sufi tracks and Ghazals on Comedy Nights, but his voice was first heard on ZEE TV’s ‘Star Ya Rockstar’ in 2011. He is kicked about debuting as a film singer, and is singing two tracks for his debut. Sharma shared his excitement with the Hindustan Times.
His singing debut is a dream come true for him. “I will shoot for the first song ‘Bolle Bam Bam,’ which is an energetic track. I never imagined that I’d be able to sing such a song. Now, I’m eager to see the response to it. I had set out to become a singer, so this song has a different meaning for me. This trend of singer-actors is prevalent now. This is a dream come true for me. For years, people will remember that I sang a song.”
The second track is an emotional one, and he wanted to portray it as his character, and not as a singer. Sharma also says that debuting is a singer does not necessarily mean that he will singing for all of his films, but only if his directors agree to so. “I have ‘acted’ the song, as I wanted it to see like the character was singing it, and not a singer. Even with this film, I told the directors that we do it only if it works. We recorded it, and it fit beautifully, so we retained it.”
Sharma had made news for his initial film debut with Yash Raj Films’ ‘Bank Chor,’ which unfortunately didn’t work out, and he was later replaced by Riteish Deshmukh. ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karu’ will also star Manjari Phadnis and Amrita Puri.
