Roy Is Slow Self Indulgent Boring Drama.
Roy Movie Review
Ranbir Kapoor looks disinterested but still looks extremely dashing and intense, Jacqueline looks gorgeous, all songs are melodious, dialogues are superb.
Ranbir
Kapoor is back on screen after long break of 16 months and that makes
in itself a reason to celebrate for movie goers. Trailer looked
interesting and songs are chartbusters.
Film
is a journey of a film maker Kabir Grewal (Arjun Rampal) who is making
3rd part of his successful film. He is a loner, speaks only
philosophical dialogues and womaniser. He meets Ayesha Amir (Jacqueline
Fernandes) in Malaysia during shoot of his next film and she is also
making her film there. Kabir has character Roy (Ranbir Kapoor) in his
film who is a famous art - thief in his film. His character 'Roy' also
shares almost identical relationship with Tia (Jacqueline) in the film
he is making. How both stories cross each other and take few really
uninteretsing turns form the rest of the plot.
Performance
wise Arjun Rampal is uni - dimensional and carries same intense look
throughout. Ranbir Kapoor looked uninterested on screen itself which is a
pity but still his charm and charisma hold it together. Jacqueline
looks glamorous and she does make some improvement in her acting skills.
Supporting cast including Ranjit Kapoor, Shibani Dandekar and Anupam
Kher is good.
Director
Vikramjit Singh failed to create any impact with over slow self
indulgent boring product though his technical skills are visible. He
should feel sorry to his bunch of actors and producer wo provided him an
exceptional platform.
Film released today and has got big release. Film has chances at box office as there is no major competition. But still it needs an exceptional jumps and word of mouth over weekend in order to come out as hit as content is bad.
Go for this one if you are Ranbir Kapoor fan!
