It's raining sequels this year and some of the most popular films of the
past are set to be packaged with new stories and a fresh star cast.
Bollywood directors are busy spinning off the sequels of their hit films
and taking the stories forward.
5 Bollywood sequels You must watch in 2015
This year, 2015 Bollywood fans will get to see their favourite characters on
screen once again. From Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Hera Pheri) to Ajay
Mehra (Ghayal) to Tanu and Manu (Tanu Weds Manu), these popular
characters are geared up to cast their magic on the silver screen again.
Hera Pheri 3
'Hera Pheri 3', to be directed by Neeraj Vora, also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. It's been 15 years since Baburao Ganpatrao Apte and his antics made fans
laugh their hearts out and the makers are not ready to hang up the
boots. The third film in the Hera Pheri series will hit the theatres
this year with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan joining the original
star cast. Post the success of 'Hera Pheri' and its sequel 'Phir Hera Pheri',
the makers are set to start 'Hera Pheri 3' with Abhishek Bachchan and
John Abraham in the lead. The former says the first movie brought in
refreshing and a new kind of comedy for Hindi cinema when it released in
2000.
"I feel 'Hera Pheri' was a refreshing new comedy for Hindi cinema. Then Neeraj (Vora) made 'Hera Pheri 2', which was even more fun," Abhishek told reporters here during the official announcement of 'Hera Pheri 3'
Tanu Weds Manu Returns:
Kangna Ranaut and R Madhavan's unusual onscreen pair in 2011 made many hearts flutter with their adorable chemistry and the popular jodi is back with the sequel Tanu Weds Manu Returns. And, the fans are waiting with bated breath to see how their story has evolved after four years of marriage. Yes! the sequel is set four years after the two tie the knot in the last film. What makes the sequel all the more exciting is the fact that Kangna will be seen in a double role. This time the vivacious Tanu will share the story with tomboy Datto. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film is slated to be released on June 12 and will also see Dhanush in a pivotal role.
ABCD 2:
When a choreographer turns into a director, the chances are most likely that the film will be about dance. Remo D'Souza made his directorial debut with ABCD: Anybody Can Dance in 2013 starring Prabhu Deva and a bunch of dancers. Despite no big stars, the film turned out to be a huge hit at the box office. And D'Souza is now back with his dancing stars but with a twist. He included Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in the cast of his sequel ABCD 2. If D'Souza can mint money without stars then the addition of the two has definitely raised the expectations of the audiences. The film is slated to be released on June 19.
Welcome Back:
It's not easy to step into the shoes of Akshay Kumar
especially when it's a comedy. But John Abraham has taken the challenge
and the actor will be seen tickling a few funny bones (or we think so)
in Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back. The sequel to 2007 laugh riot will also
see Amitabh Bachchan replace late Feroz Khan and the fans are eagerly waiting for the film.
Ghayal Returns:
Sunny Deol's
Ghayal became a huge hit in the early 90s and the story of a boxer
seeking revenge for the murder of his brother struck the right chord
with the audiences. Be it the dialogues or the action scenes, Ghayal has
always been on top of any Sunny Deol fan's list. And after 25 years,
Sunny Deol is bringing back the sequel to the film. The actor will play
an encounter specialist and is already shooting for the film.
