Whatever Sonam Kapoor does, makes a statement in itself. And she sure seems comfortable in her skin, which was visible when she visited Ahmedabad recently to promote her upcoming film Dolly Ki Doli, as she sat relaxed with legs folded up on her chair while she chatted with AT. Joking about being the "senior most actor" on the sets of Dolly Ki Doli, she laughs saying, "I have always worked with actors who are married with kids. What can I do, I started doing films when I was 21, and now I am the senior most amongst all my co-stars in Dolly.... But it was a lot of fun."

Most of your films have been youthful, light-hearted in subject and you have worked with young actors.

It has so happened in my career so far that most of my co-stars have been married with kids. But it's still been a lot of fun. I am just happy that I have got to do roles that are so different, be it Delhi 6, Raanjhana or I Hate Luv Storys or Dolly Ki Doli, I have been able to portray different characters and that has helped me grow immensely.

And now you are working with Salman in your next. So how different it is to work with such a senior actor?

You know, most people only look at Salman as a big star. But he is an amazing actor at the same time. And when you work with him, it rubs on to you and you try to take your own performance to another level.

Are you trying to change your image since you are reportedly doing a biopic on Neerja Bhanot?

I don't think I am doing anything like that. And it's too early to talk about it.

If you were to do a biopic, would it be more difficult to portray a character which is inspired by a real person?

I am sure it is more difficult to portray a real character because you have a set frame of how that person is. And you have to improvise within that frame and create your own character. You have to do justice to what that person is like and need to delve deeper so that you look and feel that character. That's why I feel Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra did fantastic jobs in their respective films.

Actors work really hard in portraying a character and doing a film. How do you feel when a film doesn't do well as expected?

Well, you have to move on and concentrate on your work. Things are in your hands only till the movie is being made. Once it is released, there is nothing you can do. And though it hurts a little, you can't sit on it for long. I try to concentrate on my next projects so that I am not distracted if a film doesn't do well.
